Metalink to demonstrate cutting-edge home networking solution at IBC

Metalink Ltd has announced that it will demonstrate its performance-leading WLANPlus wireless networking solutions at the IBC show in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from September 7th-11th, 2007. Metalink and its partners, including a broad variety of leading manufacturers, will demonstrate wireless IP Set-top boxes, Concurrent Dual-Band routers and other consumer products that integrate WLANPlus to provide high-speed wireless networking throughout the home.

Metalink will be exhibiting at booth #1.491 and demonstrating in conference room #UAM2 - by pre-scheduled meetings only. To coordinate a meeting and demo, please contact info@MTLK.com or call Mor Abraham at +972-54-4959023. Demonstrations will feature concurrent transmission of data applications over the 2.4GHz frequency band and delivery of multiple HD video streams over the 5GHz band, all at wire line quality and speeds.

Since its introduction in 2006, Metalinks WLANPlus chipset family has gained recognition as the industrys best-performing 802.11n solution offering the highest-performing transmission technology for video-grade wireless home networks. Its implementation of advanced technologies such as a Maximum Likelihood (ML) decoder combined with advanced Forward Error Correction (FEC) scheme and Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) enable it to support up to 300Mbps transmission speeds - more than twice the reach of competing 802.11n solutions - over both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

WLANPluss ability to provide reliable and robust home coverage at speeds sufficient for delivering multiple HD video streams makes it suitable for products and services that require guaranteed performance and large bandwidth while supporting Wi-Fi legacy interoperability. As such, WLANPlus provides an optimal high-throughput wireless interface for a broad variety of consumer electronics products, including Residential Gateways, Digital TVs, HDTVs, Set-top boxes, Media Adaptors and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).

WLANPlus is the optimal solution for multi-room IPTV delivery applications. With the proliferation of IPTV services around the world and specifically in Europe, delivering video from a DSL modem or Residential Gateway to one or more Set-top boxes in the home is becoming a necessity.
