In his new position, Mr. Vermeulen will be responsible for the strategic direction and continued development of a suite of products based around ANDiS4EMV. ANDiS4EMV enables financial institutions issuing chip-based cards to meet the requirements of their business today and supports significant additional functionality as their smart card requirements develop. Mr. Vermeulen will be pivotal in expanding the product functionality for the ANDiS4EMV solution and ensuring compliance to emerging standards, as well as strengthening Bell ID¡¯s long-term strategy for the EMV market.

Igno Peters, Managing Director at Bell ID comments ¡°Wynand has a fantastic track record in the EMV market. He will be instrumental in developing our ANDiS4EMV solution and I am delighted to welcome him to the company.¡±

Mr. Vermeulen joins Bell ID from Collis (International) where he was manager of their EMV Academy. His responsibilities there included the commercial success and growth of the academy and business development. During his 2 years at Collis, Mr. Vermeulen was also project manager and EMV consultant on a variety of EMV migration projects across the world including Visa International Asia Pacific and ING Bank, Netherlands. With an educational background in electrical engineering, Mr. Vermeulen has been involved in the development of EMV technology from an early stage, having developed the very first EMV compliant terminals in Africa through his work at BoE Bank in South Africa. He also spent three years at Africa¡¯s largest card manufacturer and personalisation bureau, NamITech, specializing in EMV card personalisation projects. This included world firsts in pre-authorised debit projects for Visa and MasterCard. In addition, over the past six years he has been involved in over 30 EMV migration projects in more than 15 countries.

Mr. Vermeulen comments ¡°In previous roles as an EMV consultant, I have been advocating proper smart card management as a key part of the effective leveraging of EMV card platforms. I have known Bell ID for more than 5 years and consider ANDiS4EMV as the market leader and benchmark in EMV Card and Application Management (CAMS).  In my new role I will be able to actively participate in shaping the future of EMV CAMS. I am both honoured and excited to be joining this winning team.¡±
