A report on the usage of CCTV system installed in buses released

In Seoul, how CCTV systems installed in the citys buses are used is revealed.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has released a report on the CCTV system usage in buses. According to the report, CCTV systems installed in buses prove useful not only in criminal investigation but also in car accident investigation. During 2009 and 2010, 71.4% of the CCTV usage was for criminal investigation, but during 2011 and 2012, 40.5% of the CCTV usage was for providing evidence for accidents happened inside and outside the buses and investigation of missing people.
Seoul has been supporting CCTV installation in buses since 2009 as the citizens¡¯ demand escalated. Today, there are about 32,743 CCTV systems are installed in the 7,512 buses operating in the South Korean capital.
